1. Open Hood

2. Remove clips (x5) marked in picture below

Remove marked panels (1, 2 & 3) in order. Pay attention to the clip position on the underside of panel 3

3. Remove the positive jump start cover

4. Connect the positive (red) jump lead to the area marked in the picture below (green check mark)

5. Connect the negative (black) jump lead to the area marked in the picture below (green check mark).

6. Enter the vehicle, depress the brake pedal, and pull the gear lever to initiate the high voltage self-check. (Be patient, it takes several minutes to complete).

“Vehicle start, system check, wait” message will display.

7. A second message is displayed upon completion of the high voltage self-check.

Pull gear lever to D to start the vehicle.

When “Ready” is shown in the instrument panel, press the P button next to the gear lever to shift to park and remove the jump start equipment.

Important

The charging points in battery electric vehicles are only intended for jump-starting the Volvo vehicle. Don't use the charging points on battery electric vehicles to start other vehicles – the charging circuit's fuse could be overloaded and stop working.

Ensure that the vehicle is in park before removing the jump start equipment.
